Many policies in this tree are also related to financial recovery and building up industry, which the player can undertake much more quickly than in a liberal Germany. This tree is most interesting if Soviet Russia wins the Civil War, as many focuses will simply not be available if Russia is not a Communist power. The player can, for example, take in Russia’s political refugees if the Soviets choose to go down a more repressive path, leading the 4th International or its alt-history equivalent, or work with Russia in spreading Communism across all of Europe. This path is defined by one singular choice: whether to work with Soviet Russia or antagonize them. I won’t go into too much detail on this one as you can get a pretty good idea of what it will look like from the base game, but I will say that since a total ideological role-reversal is possible by random chance in the mod – wherein communists take hold in Italy and/or Hungary while Russia becomes the world’s first fascist power – many of the focuses will be done through event rather than through focus. This path is very similar to the German tree in the base game, with some rearrangements to account for the alternate possibilities offered by the mod. The most boring tree, in my opinion, but still worth having. However, the German player will initially be significantly weaker and vulnerable to invasion, so strong diplomatic ties will be necessary. Later focuses, however, allow you to slowly build up your country again, increasing the size of both your army and industry. In short, this path allows the German player to remain allied with France and Britain and stop the rise of Fascism and Communism wherever it should arise. However, this is much easier said than done, and requires the player to maneuver through years of arduous diplomatic focuses, and to actually pay back their WWI reparations in full. The aim of this path is to try and win back as much territory as you can from the Allied Powers through negotiation, rather than saber-rattling and open conflict. So, as Germany, the player will have three paths to choose from, which I will now very briefly go over. This is no small feat, because of all the countries of this time period, Germany was the most volatile and the most prone to going in several different directions.

Nevertheless, in that time I managed to finish planning the core of the German focus tree. Hey all! Sorry for the long hiatus, but classes and other things have kept me pretty busy lately.
